At least I hope the title of this post is true. For those of you who don’t follow me on Facebook, we made the big announcement this week that we are having another baby due in September.
We found out I was expecting a few days after Christmas and I have been having trouble keeping my eyes open, let alone making a new post, everyday since. I can’t promise my blogging will be regular but I hope to update on some projects and of course the nursery when we get that started! Oh, and if there are a lot of extra commas that is just me pausing to take a nap on the keyboard.
We have a third bedroom at our house that is currently used as the “man” room but it will turn into the nursery after we find out what the baby is and I get some ideas together! Presley’s crib is very feminine and bulky so as of now the plan is to move her into a twin bed at some point before summer and to sell the crib we currently have for something smaller and more gender neutral! I am so excited about getting Presley in a big girl bed and after getting a jig saw for Christmas we have decided to make her a headboard! This is the inspiration for the bed.
I really like the shape of the above headboard and the daybed style works great for us since Presley’s bed is the first thing you see when walking in. I am really torn between a fabric with a lot of texture like a velvet or linen or a heavily geometric pattern to play off the curves of the clouds. Here are a couple different inspiration pictures.
I love the texture on these headboards and I think a nailhead trim is a must! This green lattice fabric totally has my heart though and I think it would look great with some fluffy white bedding!!
So this is about all I can manage to put into blog form at this point but I hope to update again on our finished dining room and start putting together some mood boards for the nursery!
Drake was kind enough to give me a small section of his Man cave to use as a place to store all my crafty stuff, until now this was a closet that was lacking in storage and organization to say the least!
The shelfs were already there and I had plenty of space to work with but because I didn’t have anything to help with my organization it became a mess quickly! I rarely did anything in here but drop some stuff and go which resulted in things getting lost and that included my mind. If I didn’t tackle this space and fast I was going to lose it. I started by weeding through the things I actually used and threw away the junk. I also found new places to store our DVDs and yearbooks. It is my new favorite place in the house.
To keep clutter off the table we installed and painted pegboard to hang things like scissors, and painted cans to hold my pencils and brushes. We also installed a dowel ribbon holder to make it easier to access. There is plenty of room left to add hooks as my craft stuff grows, which is weekly!
I found an old filing cabinet at good will that I painted and then mod podged wrapping paper to the front of that now holds all my paper nice and neat!
My silhouette cameo sits on my little table and gives me plenty of room to work on.
Here it is again in all its crafty glory! Let’s hope for my husband’s sake this will make me stay organized :]
Sidenote: Presley’s room is a finalist on Project Nursery’s room of the month for December! I would so so appreciate your votes! Follow the link and vote for Presley’s dream room! Thank you all so much for supporting me

I put together a little mood board today with some things I have had my eye on! The vibe is a little vintage but with some gold touches that make it somewhat modern! I was totally inspired by the Anthropologie teaspoon wallaper. It would be so beautiful as an accent wall. This was also the perfect way to announce that you too can have a room designed by me! I will be offering custom mood boards based on your wants/needs, budget, and personal style. More on that later in the week when I make it available in my Etsy shop!

Just a short post today since I have a house full of family coming in to town! Having guests always kicks my butt into gear. A few days ago I had the itch to take down the guest bathroom medicine cabinet and replace it with some easy L bracket shelves, well that led to repainting and now we have a pretty little bathroom to greet our guests! Drake made these shelves and they are so simple! Just buy and cut a board your desired shelf length and attach L brackets to the top and bottom to secure them to the wall. The paint color is Milestone by Behr and is a lot more purple/grey than the picture shows, also excuse the poor photo quality, I can’t seem to get enough lighting for better pictures! I will leave yall with some pictures of the before (when we moved in and the first paint job) and the after! Hope yall have a happy Thanksgiving!
After what seems like forever I have finally finished Presley’s room. I decided to redo the room not only for fun but to get ready to transition her to her “big girl” room. I intend to keep everything the same except we will switch her to a toddler bed! I am so in love with her room and she seems to be as well! I will have a post up soon with a how to on the window valance and the stencil wall.I wrapped the chandelier myself and will be adding some to my etsy shop soon! I added some rolling casters to her book crates so we can pull them to where I need them to be. The gallery wall was done using thrifted frames that I spray painted white. The art was all printed from my Silhouette Cameo, except for the Harper’s Bazaar print which was bought from AC Moore. The dress that hangs was worn by my sister and I and the pearls are my grandmothers. I hope yall enjoy seeing the room!
Happy Saturday yall..Here is half of Presley’s room reveal. The other side of her room is still being worked on as I am working pretty slow these last few days. This will be a picture heavy post but I will be back later in the week with what I learned with stenciling as well as a few other tutorials that we have done for her room! Hope yall love it as much as I do!
I know, I know it is Friday but I had a small surgery this week so today will count for my what I want Wednesday post!
This week I have advent calendars on the brain! I love Christmas and all things holiday but Drake made me promise to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate, so I am restraining myself. I grew up having an advent calendar and looked forward to moving the little santa to the next space everyday, I still look forward to doing it when I visit my dad in December! We don’t own a calendar but I have big plans on making one so it will be all ready to hang on December first! I have scoured the internet for my favorites, some are DIY’s and others can be bought but they are all so great!!

As you can see all of my favorites leave spaces for little gifts etc. I plan on using things such as stickers or a few m&ms as well as writing out a special Christmas activity for some of the days! We don’t do the Elf on the Shelf because Presley is too young and I find it creepy haha, so this is a fun way for her to get excited everyday even if she doesn’t know what she is counting down to yet! Ill be back next week with a rundown on my favorite wreaths and stockings. As you can see I have Christmas on my radar! Stay tuned this week for Presley’s room reveal as well!
